Rock Creek Trail Improvements

The City of Frederick, Maryland, is exploring improvements to Rock Creek Trail between Rosemont Avenue and McCain Drive. Our goal is to shape a trail that better serves pedestrians, cyclists, and neighbors alike. 

This project focuses on safety, environmental improvements, and long-term resilience for one of Frederick's valued greenways. Potential improvements include:

• Widening to safely accommodate pedestrians and bicyclists passing in both directions
• Environmentally appropriate lighting along the trail corridor
• Realigning sections to minimize steep sections and improve accessibility
• Measures to reduce flooding and erosion along the trail
